Roosterteeth just released an official statement regarding our dearest friend Monty Oum. Seeing as the website is swamped I figured I’d post a screenshot of the statement here on tumblr for those who are unable to access the site at this time.

although I was part of the RWBY fandom very shortly, joining RT fandom a little over a year ago, Monty was an amazing creator and exceptionally talented soul. Please be considerate in this difficult time not only for Monty’s direct family but also his family at Roosterteeth. Please do not badger any cast or crew member about more details, especially on today’s podcast.

“As for honoring Monty, we will do that in our own way. In lieu of flowers or gifts, we ask that you simply do something creative. Use your imagination to make the world a better place in any way that you can. If you know Monty like we do, then you know he would certainly be doing that if he were able to.”
